It is true – the days of attempting to game the system with extensive link building campaigns are gone. However, there is still a very real need to make on-site optimizations in order to allow the search engines to index your website properly. Having proper titles, relevant anchor tags, and semantic markup are must-haves on today’s web sites.

Let’s repeat – SEO is not dead; it has simply evolved. Today’s SEO consists of more than just onsite optimizations and semantic markup. It adds online citations to the mix and places a huge weight on quality content. Citations play a major role – especially in localized SEO. However, quality of content has been placed a the forefront of any SEO strategy. That’s right – content is king!
